The Mixing Console

We feature a custom DDA AMR-24 analog console capable of 84 inputs at mixdown! 32 faders feature Uptown moving fader automation. What makes this board so special? The entire master and bussing system utilizes Class A discrete transformer balanced SPA690 summing amps by Inward Connections. The power supply has been upgraded with modern high-speed rectifiers. Every opamp throughout the audio chain has been upgraded; replaced by modern high-speed chips by Burr-Brown and Analog Devices. I feature 3 unique flavors of 'British' analog EQ and two different onboard FET mic pres. The sonic soundscape of this board is similar to the sound of a classic API or SSL console. In my opinion, this board has a very open top end, tight punchy bass, clear midrange, wide depth and image, and an extended bandwidth. Contact me directly for more details.

The Recording Room

The main recording space doubles as the control room. The main room is covered with hardwood floors for a great live feel that's balanced by room diffusion, custom bass traps and sound absorption. There isn't the typical 'under the microscope' glass window at BRS. Jazz musicians, who prefer to play entirely live as band, especially welcome this community. Though most bands record live rhythm tracks and overdub vocals and solos afterwards, it is possible, due to the three isolation rooms, to record live as a band, but still have microphone separation. The Main room is "L" shaped, 24 feet in it's widest direction, 19 feet long and 15 feet wide in the shortest direction. Each Isolation room is carpeted and at least 10 feet x 11 feet. All ceilings are 8'.

Kent Verderico

I started my career in the music business leading an original rock band through the Bay Area music scene in the early nineties. Inspired by the experience of recording my band in a professional studio (ADATS and a SSL 4000), I left the Bay Area to pursue a career in recording at the University of Southern California. I graduated with a B.S. in music recording in 2000. After finishing school, I began working fulltime as a staff engineer at Admusic, a top recording and production house composing music for broadcast TV and radio commercials and prime time sitcom and reality shows.

Admusic has morphed intoEmoto Music recently in 2005, and I have become chief recording engineer at the west-coast facility. I have over 25,000 hours of studio experience. I have worked with Los Angeles's top studio musicians in sessions on a weekly basis for over 8 years. These sessions have diversified my engineering skills to cover every style of music imaginable. I have also had the opportunity to work with legendary producers Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam on a real session for the TV sitcom 'Half and Half'. I was also fortunate to have 3 Super bowl spots air in 2007.

My recent recordings and mixing can be heard on the main title of Disney's channel new TV hit 'Wizards of Waverly Place' Another rocking favorite recording of mine is the main title for 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody' This main title features my buddy Loren Ellis from Drew Davis Band on the vocals.

Throughout the years on my own time, I have worked on numerous independent albums and EPs at my home studio that have seen worldwide distribution. Tracking, recording, mixing and mastering. In addition to albums, I have mixed original music film scores for many independent shorts and most recently my second feature, "Ball Don't Lie". Kent Verderico's IMDB

I welcome all projects.

When the final medium is a crappy mp3 on ear buds or laptop computer speakers, some might say why bother? Well, the music matters to me, and the average person CAN hear quality audio on any playback system. Every little extra detail contributes to the overall final product. If it sounds good, then it is good, it doesn't matter how you got there. Let's make some great music together. That's the bottom line. Got a question about my studio or want to request my reel? Please contact me via email on the contact page. Thanks.
